Humanoid robots in 2026: who is actually shipping.
2026 is the year humanoids went from demo videos to time cards. Figure's robots work shifts at BMW, Agility's Digit has passed 65,000 operating hours, Unitree is shipping tens of thousands of units from China, and foundation models from Physical Intelligence, Google and Nvidia are turning every robot body into a platform.
Figure 03
Runs logistics sequencing at BMW Spartanburg after Figure 02's 11-month pilot (1,250+ hours, 90,000+ parts). 2.3 kWh battery, wireless charging, soft-goods body. BotQ factory built for 12,000 units a year.
Digit
The most-deployed Western humanoid: 65,000+ operating hours across nine customer sites including GXO (100,000+ totes moved), Schaeffler, Toyota Canada and Mercado Libre. RoboFab in Salem, Oregon can build 10,000 a year. SPAC listing pending.
π0.5 (robot brain)
A single model that controls many robot bodies and generalises to homes it has never seen: folding laundry, clearing tables, wiping counters. Valued at $5.6B after a $600M round. The leading candidate for the 'GPT moment' in robotics.
Atlas (electric)
56 degrees of freedom, 50 kg instant / 30 kg sustained payload, IP67. All 2026 units are committed to Hyundai's factories and to Google DeepMind's research partnership. The most athletically capable humanoid in the world.
G1 / H2
The volume leader: ~5,500 humanoids shipped in 2025 with 10,000-20,000 targeted for 2026. H2 (31 DOF, 2,070 TOPS compute) has shipped since April 2026. Approved for a Shanghai STAR Market listing.
Gemini Robotics 2
Announced July 2026, Gemini Robotics 2 brings Gemini's reasoning into physical robots. Powers Apptronik's Apollo and work with Boston Dynamics' Atlas; on-device variant runs without the cloud.
Walker S2
Mass production since November 2025 with autonomous hot-swap batteries (about 3 minutes). 1,000+ Walker S units delivered to factories including Audi FAW, Foxconn and Zeekr; S2 orders above ¥800M.
Apollo 2
Austin-based, powered by Google DeepMind's Gemini Robotics models. Raised a $935M Series A in February 2026. Pilots with Mercedes-Benz, GXO and Jabil; Apollo 3 expected in 2027.
GR00T N2
Nvidia's open humanoid foundation model, trained with Cosmos world models and Isaac simulation, adopted by Agility, Figure's competitors, Fourier, Galbot and others. Jetson Thor is the on-board compute.
NEO
The first humanoid marketed to households: 30 kg, tendon-driven, soft-bodied and quiet. Hayward, California factory opened April 30, 2026; customer deliveries not yet confirmed. Teleoperators can assist with tasks the robot cannot yet do alone.
A2
Omdia ranked AgiBot #1 for 2025 humanoid shipments. 40+ DOF with a 700 Wh swappable battery; deployed for reception, guidance and light industrial work.
Optimus 3
The most-watched and least-verified humanoid program. Tesla reportedly built a few hundred units against a 5,000-unit 2025 target. Musk says Optimus is not yet used in factories 'in a material way' and expects public sales by end of 2027. Specs for Optimus 3 withheld.
G1
Runs fully automated Galbot Stores in 30+ Chinese cities and works in Mercedes-Benz and Zeekr factories. Wheeled base with humanoid torso, 173 cm, IP54.
GR-3
Designed for rehabilitation and healthcare: 31 body pressure sensors, 55 DOF and dual hot-swap batteries. Fourier reports 2,000+ institutions served across its robotics lines.
IRON
82 degrees of freedom and an all-solid-state battery (company claim). Mass production targeted for end of 2026; inspection partnership with Baosteel.
Ameca
The most expressive humanoid face in the world, used in exhibitions, research and hospitality. 187 cm, 62 kg.
